I have always been someone who cares deeply about the dignity and integrity of innocent human lives. It makes no difference whether we are white or black, male or female, American or Brazilian, Roman Catholic or Sunni Muslim. We are all here to serve God’s intended purpose for us. Unfortunately, many living amongst us have voluntarily forfeited their rights to the human office that we all aspire to. They have forfeited this gift through heinous deeds targeted against innocent souls who, on any given day of the week, would not have harmed an insect let alone guiltless men, women, and children. These are the villains who ignore international law, diplomatic courtesy, and the norms of conventional warfare. These enemies are extraordinarily resilient, patient, and uncompromising when it comes to unleashing terror and mayhem upon us here in the West. They have used commercial airliners against our buildings and seek nuclear devices to use against our cities. We cannot allow that to happen. I will not allow that to happen. Not if I can do anything about it. If we continue to treat terrorists as garden-variety criminals and the war against them as merely a bureaucratic police action, then were are destined to lose for our foes have conditioned themselves to survive within our law enforcement system. In fact, most of our homegrown terrorist threat materialized from within the comforts of our national judicial system itself. The time has come to disregard the law enforcement approach to combating our enemy and return to being warriors akin to the days of Sun-tzu and General William Tecumseh Sherman. We need to win before we can discuss the merits of our varying approaches. In order to do this, we must restructure our commitment to survival. We must elevate innocent human life, from the very moment of its creation, back to the pantheon of God’s Creation. We must restore the individual person as the standard-bearer of human rights and provide them all due liberties and responsibilities. We must make the armed and trained citizen the empowering element of the federal government, not the stooge or the slave of this government. It is “We the People” who command the actions of Washington or the states; they do not demand or deserve our blind obedience.
